Information Technology Specialist (Application Software)

These positions are located in the National Center for Toxicological Research, Office of Research, Division of Bioinformatics and Biostatistics which develops integrated bioinformatics and biostatistics capability to address increasing needs in biomarker development, drug safety, drug repositioning, personalized medicine and risk assessment.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop software applications to support research and management operations.
  • Design software to help solve problems that arise during the development of new approaches to informatics, scientific computing and automation of resource management.
  • Create project plans, requirements, timelines, test plans and related documentation for software development projects.
  • Conduct analyses of software applications and prepare reports of findings and recommendations.
  • Establish functional requirements through discussion with customers and observations of their methods and business processes.
  • Provide expert guidance and leadership in software development to computer science and information technology personnel, management officials, and committees.
