Education Project Specialist (Kellogg Project Coordinator), Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute (SIPI)

This position is part of the Bureau of Indian Education, Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute. As a Education Project Specialist, you will be responsible for providing student support services in the areas of working families, employment and educational services, income and work support services, financial literacy and asset building services.

Open & closing dates:  08/01/2022 to 08/05/2022

Salary: $80,005 - $104,011 per year

As an Education Project Specialist (Kellogg Project Coordinator), GS-1701-12, your typical work assignments may include the but not limited to:
  • Oversight, administration and coordination of the W.K. Kellogg-SIPI ACCESS grant project.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with external stakeholders within the state, local and tribal communities/groups.
  • Maintain compliance of grant objectives, specifications, schedule, budget, milestones and resources for student support services.
  • Expand, coordinate, and centralize student support services for working families and students.
  • Create and maintain partnerships with potential service providers (internally and externally) to develop a plan to coordinate student support services.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet the qualification requirements contained in the OPM Standards. For this position, they are listed below.
INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENTS - BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
1) A 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with a major in any field;
-- OR --
2) Combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described above.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement listed above, amounts of education and/or experience for the Education Project Specialist, GS-1102-12 grade level to qualify covered by this standard:

GS-12 grade level: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level.
  • Specialized Experience include duties, such as work involving: post-secondary grants administration, management and coordination of student services; planning, scheduling and tracking grants projects; facilitate and plan grant project to grant closure by gathering and analyzing information and providing/developing recommendations; developing and creating relationships with organizations.
